Kombucha, a type of fermented tea that boasts probiotics and health benefits, has gotten so popular that Publix dedicates half a cooler to it in the produce section. In most cases, black tea is the key ingredient for the fizzy and satisfying concoction, but a local (Ponte Vedra) company is innovating with Jun Kombucha. It’s made with green tea and honey, which gives it a lighter taste.
While I prefer the sourer, black-tea Kombucha, life’s like a new convertible: nicer with options.
So far, I’ve found Hive Alive Honey Brews Jun Kombucha at Manatee Cafe, a vegan/vegetarian restaurant off State Road 16 ,and at Lucky’s, an upscale supermarket in Gainesville.
